Southdown Division

Fiona Jackson – Division Commissioner

South Down covers the large villages of Hurstpierpoint, Hassocks, and Ditchling.

There are two Rainbow units, five Brownie units, five Guide units and a Ranger unit.

As well as regular meetings in our halls, all our girls have the opportunity to get out and about in the countryside, and as we are within travelling distance of the Guiding centre Blackland Farm, most units go there for activities such as: abseiling, wall climbing, crate challenge and more. Some use the centre for sleep overs and camps.

Guides, Brownies and Rainbows all enjoy campfires, wide games and cookouts, along with other activities.

All girls in our Guide units are offered the chance to experience Residentials, the highlight of the guiding year for many.

All units are run by volunteers and we always need more help to be able to offer more great opportunities to the girls and young women in our County.

If you live in one of our Districts and you or your daughter would like to join us, please register her/yourself on our main Girlguiding website https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/get-involved/
