Worth division

All units are run by volunteers and we always need more help to be able to offer more great opportunities to the girls and young women in our Divisions.

If you live in one of our districts and you or your daughter would like to join us, please register her/yourself on our main Girlguiding website.

Girlguiding Worth division structure

Girlguiding Worth division is made up of two districts.– Selsfield and Copthorne

  • Selsfield district includes the villages of Crawley Down, Turners Hill and West Hoathly.
  • Copthorne district is the village of Copthorne.

Worth division was previously Worth district, being originally part of East Grinstead division. In 1994 when its membership increased the new Worth division was formed to cater for the growing numbers.

The units meet in a variety of venues covering most days of the week.

Currently we have units meeting in the evening as follows:

Rainbow units meet in West Hoathly on Tuesday and in Copthorne on Tuesday and Wednesday

Brownie units meet in Copthorne  on Thursday and Friday, Crawley Down Wednesday, Turners Hill Thursday and in West Hoathly on Thursday

Guide units meet in Copthorne on Monday and Tuesday and in Crawley Down on Wednesday

Ranger unit  meets in Copthorne on a Wednesday.

Worth is a thriving division providing a varied and exciting programme.  We participate in our village events and contribute to the activities locally.  The girls have the opportunity to go on camps, sleepovers and participate in a range of opportunities afforded to them by both county and their districts such as rifle shooting, bowling, paddle boarding, football and cricket to name but a few.

The guide units challenge themselves by competing for the Challenge trophy.

Selsfield guides sometimes take part in the annual East Grinstead Scout and Guide Marathon and all units from Copthorne district have the opportunity participate in the bi-annual Copthorne Scout & Guide Gang Show held at the Hawth Theatre in Crawley.

Recently girls from all sections in both districts took part in a first aid day led by trainee paramedics and leaders.  It was a really fun way to introduce and expand knowledge of first aid at all levels.
