Amanda Fisk and Rhoda Miles are Joint Division Commissioners
Rhoda Miles and Amanda (Mandy) Fisk took on the role of joint Division Commissioners in January 2021.
We are an enthusiastic Division which is made up of four Districts:
Forest District encompasses the villages of Balcombe, Bolney, Cuckfield, Handcross, Staplefield and the surrounding countryside. We are keen to engage with these communities as currently there are no active Units in this District.
Perrymount District covers communities around the Division Guide Hall, which is behind the Methodist Church in Perrymount Road, Haywards Heath. This District consists of a Rainbow Unit, 3 Brownie Units, 2 Guide Units and a Ranger Unit.
Rural District encompasses the villages of Ardingly, Horsted Keynes, Lindfield and the surrounding countryside. This District consists of a Brownie Unit, a joint Rainbow & Brownie Unit, 2 Guide Units and a Ranger Unit.
Town District covers communities around the town centre of Haywards Heath. This District consists of 2 Rainbow Units and 2 Brownie Units.
We enjoy having Division-wide fun days for all Sections and the Districts also hold events that include all Units.
Guides and Rangers have great fun at the West Sussex International Jamborees held during a week in summer every four years at the Ardingly Showground, which is in our Division.
Leaders and girls from Haywards Heath have been involved in several of the County’s trips to South Africa, organised in conjunction with the Coco’s Foundation which is based in Sussex, building houses for orphaned children communities.
We participated in the various events held to celebrate the County’s 40th Anniversary celebrations in 2019 which included a weekend County camp at Blackland Farm and trips to Chessington and Thorpe Park.
Fundraising for local charities has always been important to us, such as taking part in the Haywards Heath Lions Club Swimathon.
Town and Perrymount District Leaders, Guides, Brownies and Rainbows attend the annual Remembrance Parade at Muster Green in Haywards Heath and lay poppy wreaths. Local Guides and Brownies helped in the unveiling of the First World War Memorial. Rural Units attend Remembrance ceremonies at their own local village churches.

The Division Guide Hall officially opened in May 1928. It is the meeting place for all the Units in Perrymount District and we also hold Division and District events there. The local trading depot hosts an annual event in October which, in recent years, has also been combined with a fundraising Macmillan coffee morning.
Rainbow, Brownie, Guide and Ranger Units across the Division hold outdoor events in the adjacent field including practising their camping skills – cooking on open fires, erecting/striking tents – and singing songs round a campfire.
Haywards Heath Trefoil Guild welcomes anyone over 18 years (no need to have been a Leader, a Guide or a Brownie) who is looking to make new friends, travel and explore, learn new skills, serve the local community and who would like to help keep the spirit of Girlguiding alive. We like to help local Girlguiding units by passing on skills or simply lending a hand when asked. Every Trefoil Guild meeting aims to be inclusive, friendly and fun. We usually meet once a month on a Thursday evening, but sometimes have daytime meetings, depending on our activity. In the first instance enquiries can be made to: hhtrefoil@outlook.com
All units are run by volunteers and we always need more help to be able to offer more great opportunities to the girls and young women in our County.
